Compare the “F” in “Four” to the “F” in “Fly-By-Nite.” Also, compare the “”r” in “Hundred” to the “r” in “Garage.” Note that the form and bold appearance of the “4” in “480.00” is different than the “4” in the date. Rocky’s check was “raised.” That is, someone (Mr. Goniff?) changed the check by putting it into another typewriter and adding the “4” in front of the “80.00” and “Four Hundred” in front of “Eighty.”
